Our Story

Where It All Began

IFORA was founded on the belief that lasting change begins with strong local institutions. Across the African continent, communities are rich in ideas, leadership and initiative — yet many lack the structures, resources and partnerships needed to sustain long-term impact.

IFORA was created to bridge this gap. Rather than implementing isolated programs, IFORA connects, supports and strengthens locally anchored initiatives and helps them grow into resilient community-based institutions.

By working alongside communities, diaspora networks and partners, IFORA promotes locally led development and long-term impact. The goal is not to replace local leadership — but to strengthen it.
